Percussion

This course is designed to introduce students to the diverse world of percussion instruments. Through focused instruction and ensemble practice, students will develop a strong foundation in rhythm, timing, and musical expression.

Key Areas of study

Instrument Proficiency: Students will learn to play a variety of percussion instruments, including drums, cymbals, mallets, and auxiliary percussion.
Musical Literacy: Students will develop their ability to read and understand musical notation, particularly as it relates to rhythm and time signatures.
Ensemble Performance: Students will participate in ensemble rehearsals and performances, developing skills in coordination, listening, and musical interpretation.
Solo Performance: Students will have the opportunity to perform solo pieces, demonstrating their individual skills and creativity.
Music Theory: Students will explore basic music theory concepts, such as rhythm, meter, and key signatures.
